I also visited the art exhibit that is located in the learning commons on the first floor of the library in the back right corner behind the speaking center. This art exhibit was much different than the other one, and different in a good way. It was very simple; all the art work was in a way similar, I actually think that most of the drawings were done by the same artist. I thought it was a nice location and I also thought the artwork chosen was very well fitting not only for a library but for a college library. My favorite drawing was the one of the man with long hair, sunglasses and what looks like a cigarette in his mouth. This drawing reminds of the movie fear and loathing in Las Vegas with actor Jonny Depp. He is one of my favorite actors and this painting reminds me of him in a cool way. The art exhibit that is in the back of the learning commons is very interesting because sometimes I think it goes unnoticed, actually probably a lot of the times. To most people they are just drawings on a wall which is true but when you slow down and actually look at them you notice something you probably did not notice before. I like the location and like how they have couches and comfortable chairs around them so that it is easy to sit and enjoy the artwork, this is important because if they were on a random wall with nothing to sit on and look probably more people would not notice that it is there.

Cook Library Art Museum
I visited the art museum that is located in the front of the cook library, and I really enjoyed it. When I visited the art museum I was the only one in there at the time, so I enjoyed that too because it was no and quiet and I did not have to worry about anyone else waiting behind me to look at any art. My favorite part about the museum was the set up I enjoyed the openness and how everything seem to flow from right when you walk in the door. A lot of the artwork was very impressive, so better than others I thought. My favorite was right when you walk in you are automatically sucked in to the twin tower pieces that are in the center of the room. I thought that those two pieces were the best in the museum and think it is very cool that all the way down here in Hattiesburg, MS. they have a home. One thing I did not like about the museum was in the back room with the African statues it seemed a little bit as if it was too much a cluster. The art was great but I think I would have appreciated it more it if was bigger or in a bigger a room, more space to admire I guess I should say. I was also lucky for that reason that I was the only one in there, for that reason that there wasn’t a lot of space it could have been difficult to enjoy all the pieces if there was more people in there at the same time as me due to the tight space. But other than that I enjoyed it very much all the artwork was very interesting, and I was glad to see such important pieces in my university.
